It’s official!  We’re so excited to go live with what will be the regions leading event for innovators, creatives, entrepreneurs and visionaries!

When we launched Silicon Prairie News less than a year ago, we knew there was a strong collection of folks doing amazing things in & around Omaha…the artists, musicians, technologists, designers and entrepreneurs all so often working hard on their own projects, but the desire was to bring each of the groups together to produce even more amazing work together.

From there it led to organizing Omaha’s first Bar Camp, where we had over 120 attendees and many local businesses step up and support the effort.

In between the Tweetups and other activities, our community has grown stronger and closer together.  We haven’t “arrived” and there’s still a lot of work we can tackle, but we’re heading on the right track…thinking BIG!

After Silicon Valley author Sarah Lacy stopped into town and said there’s something unique about Omaha, a characteristic of the community that realizes we aren’t striving to be the next Silicon Valley, but doing our own thing, it gave the inspiration to harness that energy and “uniqueness” about our community and share it with others.

So we invite you to come to BIG Omaha to build connections, start conversations and launch new ideas.  Let’s rebuild this country from the inside out!
